🐧 EVERYDAY LIFE🧩 PERFECTIONISM · PART 1 OF 3

Why Perfectionists
Love Starting

The blank beginning feels full of possibility
A crocheted penguin faces a blank project and a nearly finished model.
Stuck In Here

I am a real perfectionist.
It sticks to my brain so much that it hurts.
I am afraid of failure, and I think everything has to be perfect.
Then I often cannot move.

Starting Is Easy

But even perfectionists have something they like.
I really like starting new things.
When I have just started, the space between the ideal in my head and the real thing is still wide.
I have not made anything yet, so I can think, “It will be okay from here.”
It is a state with only possibilities.

The Last Ten

The work from 90% to 100% is very hard.

Finishing Hurts

On the other hand, what perfectionists hate most is the time to finish.
The finished thing will not become the ideal in my head.
Finishing makes me look at that gap at the end.
So I hate finishing, and before that, I want to start something new.
This may be why perfectionists like new things.
Next, I will write about what to do.
