Self And Heart

The kanji for "breath," 息, is made of 自 (self) and 心 (heart).

No Windows

Your brain is inside your head, so it cannot see outside.

⚡ TRY IT
Tell the brain in the dark room, "You are safe"
The brain cannot see outside. It only feels your breathing.
❓ Am I safe? 🙂 Getting safer… 🚨 Danger?! ✅ I am safe now
Which breathing will you show the brain? Breathe in… Breathe out slowly… Huff, huff, huff! The brain relaxed. 😌 3
3 slow breaths light 3 lamps.
✨ Slow breath = "safe" message for your brain.
Safe Signal

So it seems the brain watches your breathing, and when it is slow, it thinks, "I am safe now."

Breathe Out

When you feel worried, maybe breathe out slowly and tell your brain, "It is OK."

📚 I learned this from the Japanese blog "Panda no Ondo".
