Standing Desk

When I was a manager at a language school in Clark, I really wanted a standing desk, so there was a period when I put my laptop on the counter and worked standing up.

Why Standing

When I did that, everyone always asked me, "Why are you working standing up over there? Why don't you sit down?"

I Like It

I like standing desks quite a lot, and I am the type who likes working on my feet, but the teachers and the students passing by always asked me why I was standing.

💬 So much small talk
So Much Chatting

Because of that I could have a lot of small talk, so standing up actually got many people to speak to me, and I thought that was good. That made me happy.

Easier To Approach

When someone is just sitting and working it is hard to talk to them, but if there is someone working standing up, it is a bit unusual and you want to talk to them, right?

It Worked

I also did want to communicate with the students and the staff around me, so after that I decided to work standing up. And then people started talking to me a lot.
