📱 What happened
A Year Later

Somehow, I really opened Instagram for the first time in about a year. Then I saw that someone I knew from long ago had started a business overseas. That person had so many followers, and was even posting in English. I thought, wow.

Meanwhile, Me

Meanwhile, me. My room is dirty, I have no self-control so I eat too many snacks, and my face is getting rounder and rounder. I was on the night shift until this morning, and I am exhausted 🐧

Three Hours

I compared myself with that person, and for 3 hours after I saw that Instagram, my chest hurt and I could not do anything.

Asking AI

When I talked to AI about it, it hurt even more.

🎬 How I got through it
Watching Frieren

I thought this was a little bad, so I quickly signed up for Netflix again and watched "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," which I love. Even so, the pain deep in my chest did not go away at all.

F1 Drivers

As a last try, I watched the F1 documentary "Drive to Survive." Then I saw that even the 20 fastest people in the world were comparing themselves with the teammate next to them and feeling down.

Same As Me

Even the people driving at 300 km/h were doing the same thing as me.

A Little Relief

I felt a little relieved. Well, my room is still dirty, though.

📖 What a book told me
The Impact

A book I read before called this kind of sudden pain an "impact." Right after you take an impact, people cannot control their own heart well, it seems. So at those times, it is good to wait until the wave of the impact goes away.

Places To Avoid

It also seems important not to go to places where people are easy to compare, like class reunions or family gatherings. And SNS is a parade of impacts.
